Frosty

The snowman was a jolly happy soul. And this card will make you happy. It's a great simple wintery color combination, has Stickles for some bling, and is just plain cute. I even went oer the image with my aquapainter and a light hand to give Frosty a little blue coloring.

The snowman is stamped in Staz On black and lightly colored with Ballet Blue and the aquapainter. The snow flurries are stamped in Ballet Blue that was stamped off on scratch paper once then I went over each of the large swirls with Stickles. On the punched embellishment there are Stickles dots too.

Cardstock: Ballet Blue, BB, WW
Stamp Set: Frosty, So Many Scallops (?)
Inks: Black Staz On, Ballet Blue
Extras: Brads, Scallop circle punch, Ribbon, Stickles

A Little More Traditional

Here is a card that based on colors alone is a little more traditional. Love Old Olive. It's my favorite green. And I love that one of the trees in this image is paisley so I pulled out my paisley Cuttlebug folder and embossed a panel to use.

Cardstock: Old Olive, WW, Real Red
Stamp set: Patterned Pines
Inks: Real Red, Old Olive
Extras: CB folder, polka dot ribbon

A Shimmery Snowflake

I made this card using some very nontraditional holiday colors and it turned out really elegant. The base is Soft Suede and I added the shimmery cardstock from the Christmas Cocoa Designer Papers. Snowflakes stamped in Soft Suede and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. I then covered the seam of those two layers with the polka dot Soft Suede ribbon and added a focal snowflake layered using one of my Nesties sets. I really like how this turned out.

Tis the Season

To rush around and realize I don't have a stockpile of holiday cards. So I've been working on them. Lots of different styles so I can send one that's just right for the recipient.

Sorry for the not great picture. I would retake it but this card actually got coffee spilled all over it:-( Anyway I can tell you the recipe. The base is Bermuda Bay which I used to stamp the image in also. The image panel is matted with Green Galore and Basic Black. I added silver brads to all four corners of this and finished off with a trio of buttons. Great buttons right? I found them at Walmart. It's a small mixed bag that works great with Stampin' Up! colors.

An Invitation

As you know I had the pleasure of hosting my soon to be sister in law's shower so of course got to pull out all the stops when it came to color choice, theme and style:-) I love parties. I opted for Very Vanilla and Certainly celery with black accents. I think the invitations turned out really gorgeous.

It's post card style, the party information was printed on Vanilla cardstock and die cut with a Nestie. The base is Certainly Celery stamped in same with Bella Toile. I sponged around the edges of that layer. Then I used the Top Note Sizzix die which I love and recommend for everyone. I punched out basic black for the first layer then stamped Vanilla in black using the large swirl from Baroque Motifs. I trimmed that down and covered the seams wit slim black and vanilla polka dot ribbon.

Up in the top corner I stamped a floral image from Carte Postale and sponged the edge with Certainly Celery and adhered with Dimensionals. Along the lower corner a neutral Prima with Fresh mowed Grass Dew Drop in the center finishes off the card.

A Favor

This past weekend I hosted my soon to be sister in law's wedding shower at my home. I was in charge of food and paper crafts. Naturally:-)

This is the favor I made. A simple and pretty 2,4,6,8 box topped with Rounded Tabs and filled with Jordan almonds. I made 20 and they looked really pretty nestled into a cute basket. Monday I'll show you the invitation because I'm having some difficulty getting the lighting right today.

Here is the food table all decorated and filled with deliciousness. I seriously should be a caterer. I'd be happy to share recipes with anyone interested. We served dilled egg salad tea sandwiches, pesto walnut tea sandwiches, cucumber mint tea sandwiches, cranberry almond chicken salad tea sandwiches, salami rolls, cucumber salad, Watergate salad and made from scratch mini cupcakes with buttercream frosting. Yummy!
